Nice Dance Film

Since 2018, in partnership with Un Festival c'est trop court! the Nice European short film festival, the Nice Dance Film has been celebrating the beauty of the body and movement, and the intersecting writings of dance and cinema, thanks to the partnership forged over several years between Laurent Trémeau, artistic director of the festival, and Éric Oberdorff.

In addition to the films screened, each year the Nice Dance Film honors a dance and film personality such as Joëlle Bouvier, Luc Riolon, Iranian Tanin Torabi, Icelandic Helena Jonsdottir and Bintou Dembélé.

studiotrade platform

In 2015, the artistic director of the Cannes Dance Festival Brigitte Lefèvre asked Éric Oberdorff, founding partner of the Studiotrade network, to curate a platform to showcase the vitality of independent European dance to festival audiences. Since then, in partnership with the Culture Department of the City of Cannes, Éric has been using this platform to highlight the creative work of choreographic artists presented by the network's partners, who place the body in movement at the heart of their concerns.

The Cannes public was able to discover works by Arno Schuitemaker, Sanna Kekäläinen, Sabine Molenaar, Liisa Pentti, Silke Z., São Castro & António M Cabrita, Inbal Ben Haim, Laurynas Žakevičius & Airida Gudaitė, and Oona Doherty.

Mov'In Cannes

For the whole planet, Cannes is the city of Cinema; it is also the city of Dance! So it is only natural that the International Dance Festival of Cannes should see fit to offer a prestigious showcase for both, by launching an international dance film competition under the artistic direction of Didier Deschamps and Eric Oberdorff.
In its desire to showcase the diversity and richness of dance creation on the screen, MOV'IN CANNES works with prestigious dance and film festivals by building a network of international partners.
